Also, acclaimed producer Gill Holland has just come on board as our Co-Executive Producer.

And we just found out that the project has been accepted as a work-in-progress in to IFP's Independent Film Week this September.

Last week Sladek shot footage for the first of a few behind-the-scenes videos of photo shoots with Maxim's "Hometown Hotties" for a Maxim / Verizon viral ad campaign. The final videos are being produced by Maxim in-house but all the video shooting is a Plug Ugly affair.

SAG SAYS WE CAN DISTRIBUTE!!

It's finally official: the Screen Actors Guild has just informed us that
Devils Are Dreaming has been approved to bump up to a new agreement with the union that will allow us to distribute the film. Thanks to all our union cast members who agreed to a new deal with SAG and to our friends at the union for helping us free things up so our underdog film can finally get out on DVD.

CLINTON GLOBAL INITIATIVE UNIVERSITY

Sladek is providing production support this weekend at the inaugural Clinton Global Initiative University meeting at Tulane University. As part of the event, there's a major kick-off of Brad Pitt's new project Make It Right which aims to rebuild houses in the devastated Lower 9th Ward.

Having started in this function at the inaugural meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) itself, Sladek has been regularly working the event every year.

INTERVIEW SUBJECT BAIRD JONES FOUND DEAD

Famous gossip columnist, Manhattan party thrower and Kostabi biographer Baird Jones was found dead in his apartment just two weeks after being interviewed by Plug Ugly Films for our feature documentary CON ARTIST. The interview he gave was apparently his final and we were saddened and shock to hear of Baird's passing. He has been a fixture of the NYC art and nightlife scene, was a fun and fascinating character, and will certainly be missed by many.

PUF CLIENT SUED BY YOKO ONO OVER HER OWN NAME

One of our first clients, singer / songwriter Lennon Murphy, is being sued by legendary artist and widow of John Lennon Yoko Ono for using her own name. The 25-year-old rocker has built a steady career and solid fan-base since we produced two EPK's in 2000 when she was signed to Arista Records at age 18.

Two of the viral ads produced for Maxim and their client Southern Comfort are live on SoCo's Night Institute website. These videos were shot at a Blender Theatre party, featuring lots of random drunk people forced to perform for our cameras per subjects chosen by Maxim.

CHRIS FARLEY EVENT AT SARDI'S

Plug Ugly Films shot interviews at a star-studded event on 1 October honoring comedian Chris Farley and the upcoming release of a new biography. The event at Sardi's follows a memorial for Farley being held at St. Malachy's Church wherein luminaries from Saturday Night Live past and present will be in attendance. The footage will be compiled in to a Stringer Reel for use in electronic press kits once the book is out in the Spring.

PRODUCTION SUPPORT - CLINTON GLOBAL INITIATIVE

Michael Sladek will be providing production support for the third year at the Clinton Global Initiative general meeting over the next three days in Manhattan. The event brings together CEO's from the world's major corporations with heads of state from all over the globe and the heads of NGO's and non-profits to help solve the world's problems via hard commitments. Via clients WCTV and Weber Shandwick, Sladek has worked as a Production Coordinator in the Press Production since the inaugural meeting.

ROME ITALY: CREW NEEDED FROM 12-24 OCT

We're looking for a DV cameraman with video and audio gear who resides in Rome Italy to shoot footage for us on Sept. 23rd of an event in Velletri, just outside of Rome.

Also, we're looking for a Production Assistant in Rome who speaks italian and English to assist Director/Producer Michael Sladek when he travels there to shoot for a few days in October. Experience is a plus but not necessary depending upon the person. Could be a good opportunity for a student or young person just starting out!
